What we think affects what we do

It is absolutely true that what we think not only affects what we do, it also affects how we do things and what we achieve. The perception you have will also start changing once you start thinking that you are capable of accomplishing the tasks that are taken to hand. The mindset we should have has to be that where there is room of corrections and learning instead of a closed one.
We know that aging has its influence on the brain development but to know that everything we do is a mind game can change the whole narrative to what we want to see. Our brain knows how to adapt, learn, and evolve according to how we put it to use.

The fixed mindset
An individual with a fixed mindset assumes that one can be really good at something or cannot be any good at all. They believe that their level of intelligence and abilities are innate or static. Fixed mindset makes a person avoid taking challenges and risks as they do not want to face failure and feedback from others. They usually give up easily and are mostly intimidated by the success of others. The assumption of that is what the other person is and not what they developed to be doesn’t go out of their mind. The negative thinking or perception of not being able to do certain things makes them believe that they are not smart enough or cannot improve themselves further.

The growth mindset
The first one to describe this was psychologist Dr. Carol Dweck and she investigated why few people fail while others don’t. Those with the mindset of growth embraced their failure when they couldn’t solve a problem and another finding of her investigation was that of the appraisal received for the process is much more effective than appraising the achievement. Persistence, efforts, and strategies need to be rewarded along with giving constructive criticism. These individuals are ready to give another try till they do better and improve their performance. The positive effect of having a growth mindset reduces behavioural issues, anxiety, and improves one’s performance in academics and life in general. The problem solving quality is enhanced with this sort of mindset.

In order to reach there, the initial action that has to be taken is that of to remove the inner voice of fixed mindset and realise that growth mindset can scientifically improve any individuals’ life.
