Stress or Stressors?

Have you ever thought about what is going in the minds of the secondary school students? It is no less than a pool of multiple ideas, thoughts, opinions, feelings, emotions, and fear. The down side of this is that not many are allowed to get inside and help them sort it. This takes a toll on the students. The academic stress taken by the secondary school students results in mental health deterioration like anxiety, depression, panic attacks, substance abuse, decreased motivation, and physical health worsens too.

Parents being the immediate contact and most trusted ones, must remain the constant source of support and encouragement. This helps the students to achieve their targets easily and also there can be improved behaviour patterns. Comparison and destructive criticism kill the budding ideas in their children even before it could see the world. The parents should understand the present academic situation, pressure, and competitiveness their children face but also the fact that their children are adolescents where numerous changes are taking place. The teachers along with the parents can use certain techniques which focuses on teaching and clearing the doubts. Significant positivity and behaviours directed towards goals constructs the students to grow as a better individual all together.

When the relationships get better there is a positive impact on the performance and the result. Sharing the difficulties will make them feel lighter and focused. Frequent communication and active involvement in the academics make the students assured that their parents are concerned about them. There are times when the teachers themselves take up the role of parents and help the students develop in plausible directions. The achieved success must be regularly applauded and incentivized as this reassures the students that they are on track and growing. Keeping track of the academics and behaviour will have a positive impact on both students and their parents.
